Nestled in the serene natural beauty of Kentucky’s rolling Bluegrass countryside, Saxony Farm offers a range of entertaining spaces to suit every occasion. Stunning rural views combine with the lovingly maintained grounds and historic charm of our farm buildings to create a distinctive setting for making memories.

Large Polo Barn

Renovated in 2016, the Large Polo Barn is one of the more popular features of our venue for those wanting a barn feel to your event. The largest building available, previously housing Saxony Farm’s successful string of polo ponies, the impressive 60 ft. vaulted interior coupled with six 6ft. round, iron chandeliers, new custom concrete floor, and 18 original horse stalls, provide an exceptional setting for a variety of different functions.

From barn wedding to live auction, movie night, or birthday party location, the options are endless. The natural character of the wooden structure and lofty cathedral-like ceiling is an incredible backdrop in which to host an intimate ceremony should the weather drive you inside.

Small Polo Barn

Originally a farrowing barn before becoming the Polo Barn at Saxony Farm, this structure embraces much of the heritage and character of this family-owned farm. Upon entering this space, the extraordinary single hand-hewn 30-foot-long bur oak table and a 100-year-old stove, take center stage of this barn. A rich and timeless authenticity to this rare space can be found in the names of previous polo ponies on the original beams which have been recently combined with a fresh and updated touch.

Renovated in Spring 2021 this space has been transformed by the addition of two walls of windows opening up to westerly views of the grounds and allowing ample natural light to flood in. An exquisite new kitchen, bar-lounge area, fresh paint, new lighting throughout and custom interior pieces have elevated this space to that of luxurious private dining. This legendary spot, well known amongst Thoroughbred horse racing’s elite, has created countless wonderful memories for many different people and continues to carry on that tradition today.

Outdoor
Ceremony Area

The outdoor wedding and ceremony site faces west and is bordered by mature pecan, sycamore, bur oak, and maple trees that provide ample shade and a majestic surrounding for the ceremony. Guests will look out over rolling hills of the historic Kentucky countryside, grazing horses, and Saxony Farm’s hallmark Training Barn. This luscious, green space is a stunning location for your outdoor wedding and can be customized to capture the perfect view for your day.

The Cottage

Constructed in 2014, the Cottage successfully brings rustic and refined together in perfect harmony. Connected to the Small Polo Barn by a stunning Dutch-door, the bridal party can relax and prepare for the big wedding day together in this impeccably designed private space. The Cottage offers a relaxing home-away-from-home setting, and has a convenient fully equipped kitchenette. Two serene rooms with French doors that open out onto a patio overlooking a beautiful lawn and horse paddocks.

One feels truly immersed in the country on your wedding day here. The bathrooms are highlighted by designer fixtures and modern amenities, including a shower, two sinks and two restroom facilities. The Cottage offers an abundance of natural light for hair and make-up. It is only a few steps from both the indoor and outdoor ceremony sites, ensuring a relaxing day for the wedding party and the perfect place to prepare for the big day ahead

The Man Cave

Added in 2016 and created especially for the comfort and entertainment of the groom and groomsmen, the Man Cave is situated in the original hay loft above the Small Polo Barn. This space has been fully renovated and equipped with a new 55” curved screen television, APPLE TV hookup, WIFI, mini-fridge, bar area and Arcade table. A reclaimed wooden sliding door separates the large living area from the restroom and shower. Balconies off of either end provide elevated views of the Bluegrass, as well as unique photo opportunities. RAIN PLAN

One of the main questions we field is, ‘What happens if it rains?’ Kentucky’s weather is unpredictable to say the least however, we have navigated many rainy Saturdays, power cuts and a world pandemic now and feel confident of our contingency plans.

Plan A is for your ceremony to take place on the grass.

Plan B is for your ceremony to take place on the Shade Filled Marquee Area. This is typically the case when the heavens have opened, in the lead up to your wedding day, yet it is not currently raining. This allows a hard surface for you and your guests to be on (so no muddy wedding dresses and heels sinking into the grass!) yet still allows for a beautiful backdrop.

Plan C is for your ceremony to take place inside the Large Polo Barn. This scenario is for when the weather really isn’t cooperating and we can keep your guests dry whilst still providing a unique space for your ceremony.

PARKING

Parking is adjacent to the venue in a fenced-off section of the field with ample space too allow for 300+ guests. Overflow parking is available. Shuttle buses are welcome and can park at a different location, the Mare Barn, after dropping off guests if they are staying on property during your event. There is space for these large buses to turn around at the Mare Barn.

Uber and Lyft regularly operate to and from the farm and trips to downtown Lexington are approximately $20.

If anyone has found they have had more fun than they originally planned, then we encourage cars to be left on the property overnight! Parking attendants are provided.

In 40 years of operating events, no one’s vehicle has been stuck in the parking area, however, being a working farm we have the tractor to pull you out should the need arise!

I had the pleasure of hosting our daughter's wedding at the farm over the past weekend. It was an absolute fairytale! Rosie and Broussard are an amazing couple to work with! I as well rented the Dew Drop Inn, which is a cottage that sits at the end of the farm. Breath taking is an understatement! From the interior finishings to the amazing views of the fields. I cannot say enough about it all. I would not think twice of using the Inn and the venue again.
